Being an electrical engineer whose livelihood comes in part from modeling and simulation of RF systems, my “inner nerd” is curious about some of the implementation details of your trend model. A list of questions:
1. Is your model something you run as computer program? If so, what programming language or toolset do you use (Excel, C, C++, Matlab, other)?
2. If not a computer program, what do you use?
3. Do you automate the data retrieval process?
4. What is the format of the output? Is it a plot? A set of numbers? A flashing green or red light? A directional arrow?Just curious. Thanks.

The model isn’t automated to the extent that it needs a computer program. I just look at a series of charts on a daily basis and I can easily see signal changes.
My degree was originally in Computer Science so I can automate these processes and I have automated many investment processes in my work as a PM. In this case, programming the process is overkill.
